"When it comes to fertilizing...
You might first think of toxic fertilizers or smelly animal manure. We at Plantura want to show you that fertilizing doesn't have to pollute the environment, nor does it require you to have enough space and time for a compost heap in your garden. That's why it's a matter of the heart for us to ensure that everyone can fertilize sustainably with our products, even in small spaces like your balcony.
Why do we fertilize at all?
It's clear that plants need nutrients to grow and produce a bountiful harvest. They primarily get these nutrients from the soil. Over time, however, the plant absorbs all available nutrients from its environment – the result: it gets hungry and needs more. When the plants grow in a container, the nutrients are often used up even faster due to the reduced availability. If plants don't have enough nutrients available, deficiency symptoms are usually the result. Different plants, of course, have different requirements. Tomatoes , for example, are heavy feeders – meaning they are hungrier than many other plants.

What types of fertilizers are there?
The selection of fertilizers is huge, so we would like to briefly introduce you to the fertilizers available and what advantages and disadvantages they each have.
On the one hand, there are mineral fertilizers like Blaukorn, which, while very fast-acting, also have some disadvantages. Due to their rapid nutrient supply, mineral fertilizers have a very short-term effect and therefore need to be applied frequently. This, in turn, increases the risk of over-fertilization. Mineral fertilizers can also pose a threat to the environment, for example, by leaching nitrates into groundwater. Another disadvantage of mineral fertilizers: Unfortunately, they do not support healthy soil life.
On the other hand, there are organic fertilizers like compost, which, while particularly sustainable, are unfortunately not practical for everyone. Those who garden on balconies in the city or who only have a small garden area usually cannot create a compost heap. Organic fertilization with manure is another natural alternative, but unfortunately, it has an unpleasant smell. Manure is also not that easy to obtain unless you live in a rural area and have a trusted farmer as a source.

Why is organic quality important?
At Plantura, we want to make sustainable gardening possible for all garden and plant lovers. That's why all of the raw materials in our fertilizers are certified for organic cultivation. Organic quality is important not only for food, but also in the garden. While many conventional fertilizers can pose a danger to children and animals in your garden, our organic fertilizers are completely safe and gentle on the environment, animals, and humans. This way, plants, bees, hedgehogs, and earthworms feel perfectly at home in your garden – children and pets can continue to play outside without worry.

Why is our fertilizer animal-free?
We consciously avoid using animal-based products in the production of our fertilizers. This not only protects the animals and the environment, but also offers several benefits for your plants. Plant-based raw materials are lower in heavy metals and contain no antibiotic or hormone residues. This prevents dangerous, resistant bacteria from developing on your vegetables.
