Off-Topic: DJ Roomba
My new roommate!
Inspired by the guy from Scrubs and because I haven't been allowed to import a kangaroo yet, I got myself a Chinese housekeeper a few weeks ago. Living together is going pretty well so far: Roomba doesn't cook fabulously, nor is he particularly quiet, but overall he cleans more than he messes up. A shared apartment for convenience is different! Unfortunately, Roomba isn't particularly talented. After about three months in my apartment, he hasn't memorized the floor plan or the locations of the most important obstacles. Quite the opposite: Roomba happily pushes them around. So sometimes I get out of the bathtub and find my living room cupboard in the kitchen. Or I suddenly find myself in the stairwell with my duck. So, intellect: lacking.
As Roomba wanders aimlessly through my apartment, the only thing holding it back, apart from obstacles, are the walls. More specifically, the wallpaper. Once smooth and Picasso-esque, it's now more like woodchip wallpaper on the floor. Where others just paint before moving out, I think I'll have to re-spackle. In that sense, shock absorber: inadequate.
Roomba does, after all, pick up quite a few things on its wanderings. Since we've been living together, I haven't encountered a single dust bunny! Unfortunately, I haven't encountered many things I would have been happy to see again. Little Peter would say, "My homework? The robot vacuum ate it!" So, in conclusion, suction power: (sometimes too) good.
Why all this? Just like that, after all, it says "off-topic"!
