Since our inception, we've wanted to make the world a more colorful place and help people give themselves and their loved ones beautiful gifts while doing good things. This also includes keeping our ecological footprint as a company as small as possible. This starts with recycled packaging materials, continues with the planting of colorful flower meadows , and doesn't stop with a generous portion of teamwork.

We've already created 35 football fields' worth of colorful flower meadows: Together with our flower sponsors, we've planted 25 hectares of valuable (and tasty) habitat for countless insects. And many other animals benefit from our wild meadows! Breeding and nesting birds, rodents, and small animals, as well as deer and their fawns, find peace, protection, and shelter in the tall flowers. => Learn more

We are organically certified: Many of our products are already organic, and many more will follow – we are working hard and passionately on this. => To the certificate

We ship climate-neutrally: Shipping is the biggest environmental problem in e-commerce. To make at least our small contribution, we have been shipping our packages and parcels climate-neutrally since mid-2013. We use as little packaging as possible, reduce our packages to a minimum, and offset the CO2 generated during transport through climate protection projects.

We recycle: A high percentage of our packaging material comes from old cardboard boxes. We produce this ourselves thanks to our shredding machine. This way, what was once considered trash is transformed into something useful, and your order arrives safely!

We've been recognized: We feel a commitment to our environment and our fellow human beings, even in the area of promotional materials . With our growing product range and sustainable promotional items, we strive to offer an ecological challenge to the world's traditional, mostly plastic, promotional materials. In 2016, we were recommended as a Sustainable Product by the PSI. Since then, we've only become more sustainable!

We rely on loving craftsmanship: We rely on the many hardworking hands at Lebenshilfe and other workshops for people with disabilities – especially in northern Germany. This brings numerous benefits for both sides: short delivery times, local partners, and social responsibility. Our products are 100% handmade in Germany.
- We love what we do and the people we work with: We are urban gardeners, both internally and externally. The appreciation and growth of our employees are particularly important to us. That's why we also foster a cheerful and diverse atmosphere within our teams.
Small City Gardeners Environmental Statistics:
- With our 25 hectares of flowering meadows , we have already stored 2,500 tons of CO2 in 2021.
- In 2021, our pet food has already fed more than 90,855 birds, 7,748 hedgehogs and 12,015 squirrels.
- With the Bienenwohl campaign, we donated €1,867.06 to bee rescue projects in 2020.
